To promote
effective protection of internally displaced persons so as help safeguard
future generations against war, human rights violations, homelessness,
sexual and gender violence, poverty, injustice, loss of cultural diversity,
HIV/AIDS and environmental degradation
for the
protection of internally displaced persons" thereby pledging my support for
the "world citizen legislative initiative" that will be submitted to the
United Nations General Assembly
WE PROMOTE a
process of:
Mobilisation of
the world's citizenry based, for example, on citizens and world
organisations' support for this manifesto so that it comes to the formal
attention of the United Nations General Assembly and member states, with a
request to call a world conference on the protection and assistance of IDPs
and dedicate a an internationally thematically dedicated day for IDPs to
raise the profile of their plight.
